ANM News Desk: Indian-origin Priti Patel has been appointed as UK’s Secretary of State by the new Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

She will replace Sajid Javed, who will not handle the profile of a Chancellor in the Cabinet.

UK’S DEPUTY MAYOR CONDEMNS WORLD TERRORISM: SAYS NO HARD BORDER REQUIRED BETWEEN UK AND IRELAND

By Manju Choudhury, International Roving Editor ANM News, Belfast : Amanda Grehan, the Deputy Mayor of Lisburn Castlereagh,  Belfast condemned terrorist activities all over the world stating that Britain has faced it too. She expressed her support saying that they stood with the rest of the world against terrorism because only peace was required for humanity.

When asked about her views regarding Brexit Ms. Grehan stated no one could say anything as they are waiting for the steps to be taken next.

The Deputy Mayor also expressed her views on the hard border between United Kingdom and Ireland stating that it wasn’t required as people from both the countries lived in peace and love. She also said that it would be expensive and the funds should rather be spent on the betterment of the community.
