He said that the NDA-led Modi government at the Centre had been successful in implementing various development works throughout the country in the last four and a half years.

CHINA AGAINST MODI’S ARUNACHAL VISIT: BJP DISMISSES OPPOSITION

ANM News Desk: China’s foreign ministry condemned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the disputed north-eastern border state of Arunachal Pradesh, saying it “resolutely opposes” activities by Indian leaders in the region.

Modi’s visit was part of a series of public meetings in the region aimed at garnering support for his Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of elections due by May.

Despite recent efforts to improve bilateral ties in both countries, disputes over the mountainous Indo-China border – which triggered a war in 1962 – and the region that China claims as southern Tibet have remained a sensitive issue.

MAMATA TO RUN GOVERNMENT FROM THE DHARNA MANCHA

By a Staff reporter: In an unprecedented move, chief minister Mamata Banerjee has decided to run her government from the streets. The state administration is literally camping on the dharna site at Esplanade Metro channel taking orders from the chief minister.

Chief Secretary Moloy De, state security advisor Surajit Kar Purakayastha and director general of police Virendra, police commissioner Rajeev kumar along with senior IAS and IPS officers are discussing important issues with her and taking decisions.

TWITTER WAR OVER PM VISIT TO TN

By a staff reporter: Tamil Nadu is caught in a twitter war over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state. The hashtag, #GoBackModi is trending on Twitter on the day of PM Modi’s visit to Madurai. The posts largely reflect the a section of people’s  anger over the central government’s alleged failure to help people during the cyclone Gaja. The cyclone left over 3 lakh people homeless and uprooted around 11 lakh trees crippling the livelihood of a huge population.

Meanwhile, thousands of other tweets welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Madurai also did the rounds. Large number of people thanked him for taking the initiative of sanctioning a hospital of the stature of AIIMS in the city. Hashtags like #MaduraiThanksModi and #TNWelcomesModi too are among the top trends on Twitter.

MINISTERS WISH CITIZENS ON THE EVE OF REPUBLIC DAY

ANM News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people on the country’s 70th Republic Day on Saturday.
“Happy Republic Day to all fellow Indians,” he tweeted.

Several leaders took to social media and extended their greetings as nation-wide celebrations continue.

PM MODI ISSUES CRORES FOR TRANSFORMING AGRA INTO A SMART CITY

ANM News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched numerous civic projects worth Rs 2,980 crore during his visit to Agra.
He launched the Gangajal project to provide better and more assured water supply and also laid the foundation stone for an Integrated Command and Control Centre for the Agra Smart City project.

The smart city project is meant to develop the tourism destination as a modern world-class city.

The Gangajal programme will reportedly provide Agra with better water supply, benefiting both the residents of the city as well as tourists.

MAHARASHTRA CM GRACES PM MODI’ S BIOPIC GRAND POSTER LAUNCH

Amarnath, Mumbai: The poster of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s biopic was launched in Mumbai’s Garware Club House, Wankhede Stadium. Bharatiya Janata Party member and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was the chief guest at the poster launch.  “This is the beginning of a new chapter in history,” Fadnavis declared. He wished the lead actor well and inspired him to finish shooting at the earliest.

National award winning Director Omang Kumar has directed the film with Sandip Singh as producer and Suresh Oberoi the Co-Producer.

Vivek Oberoi graced CM Fadnavis’s presence and thanked him. Suresh Oberoi congratulated his son and assured that the film will be completed with success.

TRUMP AND MODI HOLD DISCUSSIONS REGARDING INCREASED STEEL-ALUMINIUM TARIFFS

ANM News Desk: U.S. President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted discussions regarding the U.S. trade deficit with India and increasing their cooperation in Afghanistan in a telephone call on Monday, the White House said.

“The leaders agreed to strengthen the U.S.-India strategic partnership in 2019 and exchanged perspectives on how to reduce the U.S. trade deficit with India, expand security and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific, and increase cooperation in Afghanistan,” White House officials said.
