ANM News Desk: Arun Jaitley had major contributions at the helm of Finance Ministry in the Narendra Modi led government. The loyal leader who had been keep unwell for days had been visited by numerous senior leaders of the country as well wishers hoped for his early recovery. However Arun Jaitley’s health took a toll on him and he passed away on 24th August at the age of 66.

CBI PINS THE FINAL NAIL IN SUVAPRASSANA PROBE COFFIN: THE PAINTER IN DOCK

From Our Correspondent, Delhi: Painter, heritage activist, journalist and part time political leader Suvaprasanna is in neck deep CBI trouble. ANM News sources at the CBI headquarters in Delhi mentioned that Director Rishi Shukla has urged investigators to expedite investigations and file chargesheet at the earliest in the Saradha chit fund case. CBI claimed that Suvaprasanna has not been able to explain a major part of the Rs 6 crore that was transferred to his account. CBI officials in Delhi claimed that several close confidants of Suvaprasanna interrogated by the CBI had confessed to the detectives that the painter used his proximity with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to curry favours. CBI sources said after reviewing Suvaprasanna’s case that there are tell tale evidences to suggest his involvement. There are chances that Suvaprasanna might be called for interrogation again as he needs to clarify about some paintings that he had bought at exorbitant prices.

PEOPLE HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE: MAMATA BANERJEE

ANM News Desk: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Sunday demanded that people have the right to know what happened to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, while remembering the “son of the soil” on the day he reportedly went missing 74 years ago.

She said the whereabouts of Netaji after he “disappeared” on August 18, 1945 were still not known.

Several reports have claimed that Netaji had boarded a plane from Taihoku Airport in Taiwan, which crashed leading to the death of the great leader.

There is, however, no confirmation on his death as experts came up with different theories about his disappearance.

TRINAMOOL FOCUSED ON DEVELOPMENT OF TRIBAL COMMUNITIES: MAMATA BANERJEE

ANM News Desk: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated that the state government had formed a separate department to bring about comprehensive development of various tribal communities in the state.

The chief minister, on the occasion of International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, listed her government’s work for the uplift of the tribals.

“Today is… #AdivasiDibas. Our government has created the Tribal Development Department to bring about comprehensive development of various tribal communities in #Bangla,” Banerjee tweeted.

ANM News Desk: West Bengal CM and Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee has reacted to the developments regarding J&K.

Banerjee stated that that she is not discussing the merit of revoking Article 370, but was against the procedural lapses. The TMC chief also urged the authorities to release political personalities such as Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti.

“Kashmiri people are very much part of the country. They should not feel isolated. They are part of India. Building up confidence among people is important. We should not be panicking. We must restore peace. We want peaceful negotiations and a resolution,” Banerjee added.

CM MAMATA BANERJEE DECLARES RURAL BENGAL AS OPEN DEFECATION FREE

ANM News Desk: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has declared rural West Bengal as open defecation free and said that her government will now focus on solid waste management.

Around 1.35 crore households in rural Bengal have been covered by the ‘Mission Nirmal Bangla’, which aimed at making all villages open defecation free (ODF) by October 2.

As reports continue to pour in about party’s diminishing popularity the fiery leader has vented her anger on a section of senior party leaders and ministers. ANM News have learnt that Mamata mentioned that her government has done massive developmental work in rural Bengal and have initiated large number of schemes for the benefit of the poor and downtrodden but all of these are going down the drain because of nepotism and corruption by section of party leaders and ministers. In a close door conversation, Mamata has warned that she has no interest in clinging on to power and challenged those loaders and ministers to lead the party to victory on their own strength of performance and organisational skills. Party insiders claimed that Mamata is upset with performance and role of few senior ministers and party leaders who she feels are undoing the good work done by her government. TMC insiders told ANM News that more than half a dozen ministers are under Mamata’s scanner and she might take drop them from the ministry in near future.
