CONGRESS ASKS SALMAN KHAN FOR MP CAMPAIGN

ANM News Desk: The Congress in Madhya Pradesh has proposed Bollywood actor Salman Khan to campaign for the party in Indore. The actor had spent most of his childhood in Indore before shifting to Mumbai.

MP Congress spokesperson Pankaj Chaturvedi stated that leaders had already talked to Salman Khan and were sure of his participation.

NORMS FOR ONLINE PLATFORMS PRIOR ELECTIONS

ANM News Desk: The Election Commission has declared a code of ethics for online platforms and social media sites prior to the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. A meeting was held with the representatives of IAMAI, Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter, Google, ShareChat, TikTok and BigoTV.

The EC urged the social media platforms to come up with a set of norms, which would be similar to the Model Code of Conduct.

ELECTION RACE: NOTIFICATION FOR JAMMU BARAMULA ISSUED

Yawar Shafi, Srinagar: The Election Commission of India (ECI) today issued notification for General Elections to Baramulla and Jammu Parliamentary Constituencies.

As per the notification, last date of filing nominations has been fixed on March 25, while the scrutiny of papers will be held on March 26 and the last date of withdrawal of candidature is March 28 up to 3 PM.

EC TO MEET SOCIAL MEDIA REPRESENTATIVES PRIOR ELECTIONS

ANM News Desk: The Election Commission on Monday told the Bombay High Court that it would set rules based on which social platforms will run political advertisements. They also have to be approved by the EC.

A poll panel will hold meeting with the representatives of Facebook, Twitter and Google today, based on the issue.

The poll panel is also developing a model code of conduct in consultation with Internet and Mobile Association of India and social media platforms.

Last year a man from Karnataka endured 15 hours of inking and got a large tattoo of PM Modi that covered almost his entire back.

PRIYANKA GANDHI TO MEET PARTY WORKERS IN LUCKNOW

ANM News Desk: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra reached Lucknow on Sunday morning for a four-day visit. She will be meeting the assembly candidates and party workers to review Congress’ preparedness for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Priyanka Gandhi is expected to leave for Prayagraj today evening  from where she will will conduct a 140 km long ‘Ganga Yatra’ on a steamer boat from Monday to Wednesday.

EC INCLUDES MANIFESTO IN MODEL CODE OF CONDUCT

ANM News Desk: Political parties have been barred from releasing election manifestos in the last 48 hours before polling  by the Election Commission.

The manifestos have now been made part of the Model Code of Conduct.

In the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections, parties cannot release manifesto in the last 48 hours before each phase on April 11, 18, 23, 29, May 6, 12 and May 19.
