WOMAN ARRESTED FOR HIDING MOTHER’S BODY 44 DAYS POST DEATH

ANM News Desk: An American woman has been arrested for hiding her dead mother’s body for 44 days in their Virginia home.

55-year-old Jo-Whitney Outland had been charged with concealing the body of her mother, Rosemary, in her home following her death on December 29th.

The body had been hidden under 54 blankets, while 66 air fresheners were used to disguise the smell as Ms Outland slept beside it.

The meeting is being held by Home Minister Rajnath Singh where he’ll brief the leaders of various parties about the Pulwama terror attack and the emerging security situation in the militant hit Kashmir Valley.

The meeting is being held to brief political parties about the steps government would take so that the nation speaks in one voice on the issue.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi expressed full support stating that his party will stand firm with the security forces and the government. Other parties have also assured full support.

SINGLE WAY TRAFFIC ON JAMMU SRINAGAR NATIONAL HIGHWAY ON TRACK

Yawar Shafi, Srinagar: One-way traffic was allowed on the Jammu-Srinagar highway on Saturday and only stranded vehicles are moving from Jammu to Srinagar, a traffic official said.

Around 7,000 vehicles stranded in the Kashmir Valley would only be allowed to move towards the Jammu region after the highway was completely decongested, the official added, hoping the process might get smoother by later in the day.

The strategic 300-km long national highway that links the landlocked valley to other regions was restored on Friday afternoon for traffic.

DEATH TOLL IN PULWAMA BLOODIEST ATTACK EVER REACHES TO 49

Yawar Shafi, Srinagar: In a massive IED Car bomb blast yesterday, the death toll in Lethpora militant attack has mounted to 49. A top CRPF official confirmed that the death toll has risen to 49.

Earlier, 43 CRPF men were killed while 44 were injured in a car bomb attack along Srinagar-Jammu highway in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Jaish Cadre Militant rammed the car into the CRPF bus triggered off an intensive blast, thus leaving 49 CRPF men dead and 44 others injured.

PULWAMA ATTACK: DEATH TOLL MOUNTS TO 45

Yawar Shafi, Srinagar: The number of death has mounted to 45 in an attack on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy in Jammu and Kashmir. Besides, 38 others were wounded in the worst-ever attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

The attack took place around 3.15 p.m. on Thursday when a ‘Fidayeen’ bomber belonging to the Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) outfit rammed an explosive-laden SUV into a bus carrying CRPF troopers in Lethpora area of Pulwama district on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway, officials said.

“None among the 44 CRPF men travelling in the bus that took the full impact of the suicide bombing survived,” a CRPF official said.

“An injured person in another bus has also succumbed taking the death toll to 45,” he added.

The official said the injured (38) CRPF men are being treated in the Army base hospital in Badamibagh cantonment area of Srinagar.
