NO THIRD PARTY SHOULD INTERFERE IN KASHMIR ISSUE: EMMANUEL MACRON

ANM News Desk: India and Pakistan should resolve the Kashmir issue bilaterally and no third party should “interfere or incite” violence in the region, French President Emmanuel Macron stated on Thursday after his marathon one-on-one talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The two leaders reviewed the dynamic and multi-faceted bilateral relationship during their more than 90-minute long one-on-one meeting at Chateau de Chantilly, located about 50 kms north of Paris.

The one-on-one interaction was followed by the delegation-level talks. After the talks, the two countries signed four MoUs.

P. CHIDAMBARAM REMANDED TO CBI CUSTODY TILL AUGUST 26

ANM News Desk: Former Union minister and senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram who was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the INX Media corruption case, was remanded to CBI custody till Monday (August 26). Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the court that Chidambaram had to be interrogated in custody as he was “not being co-operative and being evasive in his replies.”

WOMAN GETS BITTEN TWICE BY A SHARK DURING A SWIM IN HAWAII

ANM News desk: A woman was taken to a hospital Tuesday after being bitten twice by a shark while swimming in Hawaii.

The woman, 27, was reported to be in “good health” and was expected to be released after a shark bit her while she was swimming Kealakekua Bay on the Big Island’s western side, leaving her with injuries to her lower back and right hip area.

Police officials stated that witnesses described the shark as having a gray tip and it was possibly a 6-foot black-tip reef shark.

NO POLITICAL VENDETTA IN THE ARREST OF CHIDAMBARAM: DR. TAMILISAI SOUNDARARAJAN

ANM News desk: The Tamil Nadu BJP President Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has said, there is no political vendetta in the arrest of former Union Minister and Congress leader P.Chidambaram.

She stated that the BJP is being blamed for the action by the CBI and the ED to malign the party, as the opposition could not succeed in proving their charges over the Rafael deal.

She said, all the actions against Mr Chidambaram are being taken by following due procedures, and added, if he is proved innocent, he would be set free.

BUSINESSMAN RATUL PURI SURRENDERS IN CASE RELATED TO AUGUSTA WESTLAND SCAM

ANM News desk: Businessman Ratul Puri, who was arrested in a bank fraud case, moved an application before a Delhi court on August 22 saying he wants to surrender in the money laundering case related to the Agusta Westland chopper scam.

Puri, nephew of Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath, filed the plea before Special Judge Arvind Kumar, who has put up the matter for August 23.

IMD FORECASTS HEAVY RAINFALL OVER ODISHA AND KERALA

ANM News Desk: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that heavy rainfall is likely over Odisha and Kerala on Thursday. The weather forecasting agency also predicted that isolated pockets of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Assam and Meghalaya are likely to witness heavy downpour throughout the day.

MAN COMMITS SUICIDE AFTER KILLING HIS BROTHER AND SISTER-IN-LAW

ANM News Desk: A 45-year-old man on Thursday committed suicide after allegedly killing the wife of his brother in the Gyanpur area of Bhadohi in UP.

The villagers spotted the body of Subhash Chand hanging from a tree, about 300 metres away from his house, in the morning. When they went to inform his family members about the incident, they saw the body of the wife of his younger brother there.

Villagers told police officials that Chand was in an illicit relationship with his brother’s wife and it may be a reason that he killed her before taking his own life

SUMMONING OF RAJ THACKERAY BY ED HAS LED TO AN UNDECLARED EMERGENCY: NCP LEADER

ANM News Desk: NCP leader Dhananjay Munde on Thursday alleged that an “undeclared Emergency” has become more apparent in the country now with the summoning of MNS chief Raj Thackeray by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering probe.

He further alleged that the ED summoned Thackeray, a bitter critic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah, to “silence him” ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly polls, due in September-October.

Munde, who is leader of the opposition in the state Legislative Council, also charged the BJP, heading governments at the Centre and in the state, with “throttling” democracy.

CBI PINS THE FINAL NAIL IN SUVAPRASSANA PROBE COFFIN: THE PAINTER IN DOCK

From Our Correspondent, Delhi: Painter, heritage activist, journalist and part time political leader Suvaprasanna is in neck deep CBI trouble. ANM News sources at the CBI headquarters in Delhi mentioned that Director Rishi Shukla has urged investigators to expedite investigations and file chargesheet at the earliest in the Saradha chit fund case. CBI claimed that Suvaprasanna has not been able to explain a major part of the Rs 6 crore that was transferred to his account. CBI officials in Delhi claimed that several close confidants of Suvaprasanna interrogated by the CBI had confessed to the detectives that the painter used his proximity with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to curry favours. CBI sources said after reviewing Suvaprasanna’s case that there are tell tale evidences to suggest his involvement. There are chances that Suvaprasanna might be called for interrogation again as he needs to clarify about some paintings that he had bought at exorbitant prices.
