HOME MINISTER SHOULD INAUGURATE A NEW ERA OF ENGAGEMENT IN KASHMIR: SHAH FAESAL

Yawar Shafi, Srinagar: President J&K Peoples Movement Shah Faesal has said that on his maiden visit to Kashmir as Home Minister, Amit Shah should inaugurate a new age of engagement and reach out to people of the State.

In a statement issued today from Srinagar, Shah Faesal said that Central Government led by PM Narendra Modi has an extraordinary opportunity to take bold decisions on Kashmir and bring peace to Valley while taking all stakeholders on board.

He argued for initiation of dialogue process, resumption of Cross LoC trade, freeing of political prisoners who are in jails for minor offenses, among other political initiatives needed at this hour.

ANM News Desk: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have topped the title of Britain’s “most socially significant” people.

Magazines describe an invitation to stay at William and Kate’s Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, as the “ultimate social trophy” and ranks them one place ahead of actor Idris Elba and his wife, Sabrina Dhowre.

In third place are financier Joseph Getty and wife Sabine Getty, who is a jewellery designer.

2 YEAR-OLD ACCIDENTALLY SHOOTS SELF

ANM News Desk : A two-year-old boy died tragically from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head after finding a gun inside his grandmother’s purse and shooting himself with it.

Kayden Stuber was staying with his grandmother and aunt while his parents were at work.

Deputies and emergency responders rushed to the scene, but Kayden was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital.

DRIVING EXAMINER GETS RUN OVER BY CANDIDATE

ANM News Desk : A driving examiner was run over and killed by a 68-year-old woman taking her test.

The 35-year-old was struck down and killed by the candidate at an test centre during the part of the exam that focuses on manoeuvres.

The incident happened in the southern Polish city of Rybnik. Details are yet to be known on how the woman came to run over the man.

OVER 700 MILITANTS KILLED IN J&K IN LAST THREE YEARS: GOVERNMENT

Raju Singh, Jammu: More than 700 militants have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir over the last three years, Union Home Ministry said on Tuesday.

A total of 113 militants were killed between January and June 16 this year, 257 were killed in 2018, 213 in 2017 and 150 in 2016, taking the total number of those killed during the period to 733, it said.

As many as 112 civilians also lost their lives during this period in the state.

BRIAN LARA ADMITTED TO MUMBAI HOSPITAL FOLLOWING CHEST PAIN

ANM News Desk: West Indies batting legend Brian Lara has been admitted to a Mumbai hospital after he complained of chest pain. Lara is in India as an expert for a sports network for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. The hospital is yet to issue a statement.

GUN WIELDING PICTURE OF SOUTH KASHMIR YOUTH GOES VIRAL

Yawar Shafi, Srinagar: The militant recruitment that saw rise in Kashmir after killing of top Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani in 2016 are continuing despite killing of hundreds of militants in gunfights and shoot-outs with security forces.

In an another, a picture of a youth who is belonging to Anantnag district of South Kashmir has gone viral on social media site where he is seen holding an AK-47 rifle and wearing a camouflage vest. A pistol, some magazines and grenades are also seen place in front of the youth.

As per the details mentioned on the picture, recruited youth’s name is Rafiq Ahmad Drangay who has been code named as Abu Zarar (same code name as of slain militant commander Sabzar Bhat).

FUGITIVE MEHUL CHOKSI MAY SOON LOSE HIS ANTIGUAN CITIZENSHIP

ANM News Desk: Fugitive Mehul Choksi, who is wanted in India for the Rs 14,000 crore PNB fraud case, is likely to lose his Antiguan citizenship, opening doors for his extradition to India.

 Antigua Prime Minister Gaston Browne has reportedly informed that Choksi’s Antigua and Barbuda citizenship will be revoked in short order. Browne informed that Choksi will get the option to defend himself in court but will be extradited when his ‘legal options’ are over.
