CENTRE TO REVISE NATIONAL WATER POLICY TO BRING KEY CHANGES

ANM News Desk: The Centre will soon be coming up with an revised version of the National Water Policy to bring key changes in water governance structure and regulatory framework.

Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has stated that a National Bureau of Water Use Efficiency will be set up.

He said, hydrological boundaries, rather than an administrative or political boundary, should become part of water governance structure in the country.

ANM News Desk: School and colleges will remain shut in Pune as death toll due to floods following heavy rains mounted to 7 on Thursday.

Pune district collector Naval Kishore Ram has declared a holiday in schools and colleges of Pune city, Purandar, Baramati, Bhor and Haveli Tehsils for Thursday.

Six people were killed in a wall collapse incident in Sahkarnagar area on Wednesday while one other body was found by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in a vehicle in a canal near Sinhagad road on Thursday morning.

CBI SUMMONS RAJEEV KUMAR AFTER HIS FAILURE TO APPEAR

ANM News Desk: CBI has once again summoned former Kolkata police commissioner Rajeev Kumar to appear before it on Thursday in connection with the Saradha chitfund scam case.

The central agency has given multiple notices to Kumar, who is currently the Additional Director General in the West Bengal Crime Investigation Department, to appear before it for questioning as a witness in the multi-crore scam.

2019 INTERNET GAG: INTERNET SHUTDOWN IN KASHMIR REACHES 1100 HRS

Yawar Shafi, Srinagar: Kashmir is all set to hold the top slot when it comes about the longest internet gagged destination in the world. The frequent internet shutdown in the valley is nothing new for the people of the region as the routine suspension seems like a trend for them nowadays but since August 5, post abrogation of Article 370, there has been no internet in the Valley for the past 50 days which approximately mean 1100 hours.

In the past one decade, the internet service was suspended and restored multiple times. But this time around, the valley is going to break all the records, as at present the gag isn’t limited to only mobile internet services but broadband, lease line, and even V-Sat services continues to remain suspended since August 5, in the aftermath of the revocation of Article 370 and the bifurcation of the erstwhile state of J&K into the two Union Territories (UT’s).

10 YEAR OLD DIES OF A RARE BRAIN EATING AMOEBA

ANM News Desk: A 10-year-old girl has died in the hospital, after she contracted a rare brain-eating amoeba while swimming in a Texas river.

Lily Mae Avant swam in a river and lake, then suffered a headache and a fever the following weekend.
