ANM News Desk: Former finance minister Arun Jaitley was cremated at the Nigambodh Ghat in New Delhi with full State honours on Sunday in the presence of leaders from across the political spectrum and scores of his admirers and party workers.

Jaitley’s son Rohan performed the last rites.

The 66-year-old BJP stalwart passed away at the AIIMS, New Delhi on Saturday.

ANM News Desk: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday attended the passing out parade of IPS probationers at National Police Academy in Hyderabad.

Amit Shah paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhai Patel stating that he united 630 princely states but “only Jammu and Kashmir was left and under PM Modi’s leadership, Article 370 has been abrogated and the state is now fully integrated with rest of India.”

The ceremony marked the conclusion of basic training of the IPS probationers.

COMPLAINT FILED CONGRESS WORKER FOR ALLEGED DEFAMATORY REMARKS AGAINST AMIT SHAH

ANM News Desk: A complaint has been filed against Congress Councilor Yasmin Kidwai on Saturday for allegedly making defamatory remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The complaint has been filed Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha National Secretary Impreet Singh Bakshi referencing a tweet posted by Kidwai on August 10.

The complainant said in a letter to Delhi Police Commissioner alleged that ‘sole motive of such derogatory and defamatory statement issued by accused Yasmin Kidwai is to gain limelight since she is defaming the Home Minister’.

ARUN JAITLEY CONTINUES TO BE IN CRITICAL HEALTH

ANM News Desk: Former finance minister Arun Jaitley who was admitted to AIIMS on August 9, continues to be in critical condition. Arun Jaitley President Ram Nath Kovind, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited AIIMS on Friday to enquire about the health condition of former finance minister Arun Jaitley, who is stated to be “critical”.

CONGRESS COULD NOT SCRAP ARTICLE 370 BECAUSE OF VOTE BANK GREED: AMIT SHAH

ANM News Desk: Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted on Friday that the scrapping of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir is a “big milestone” for the unity and integrity of the country and will ensure development of the UT.

At a public rally, ahead of Haryana polls, Shah stated that the revocation of provisions of Article 370 of the Constitution would help in developing Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.

He also said the Modi government scrapped the special status in 75 days, which the previous Congress-led governments could not do in 72 years because of their “vote-bank greed”.

ANM News Desk: People dependent on iron ore mining in Goa have urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to convene a meeting of the Group of Ministers (GoM), led by him, to discuss the issue of resumption of the industry in the state.

The GoM, which has been formed to examine the vexed issue of mining in Goa, includes Union Ministers for Finance, Environment, Agriculture, Mining, Commerce and Industries, Petroleum and Law. It is led by Shah.

GMPF is an umbrella organisation of the people rendered jobless following the closure of the key industry.

The BJP stalwart died last year on August 16 at AIIMS following a prolonged illness at the age of 93.

KARNATAKA CM YEDIYURAPPA TO HOLD TALKS WITH AMIT SHAH FOR CABINET EXPANSION

ANM News Desk: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa will be in Delhi for two days beginning Friday during which he would hold talks with party president Amit Shah and finalise the much awaited expansion of his cabinet.

The Chief Minister, who left for the national capital on Thursday night, would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a host of union ministers during his visit. Yediyurappa said he would also discuss several developmental works concerning the state and central relief to flood and ravaged districts.
