40 DAYS AND ON: EXTRA SECURITY CONTINUES TO KEEP SURVEILLANCE OVER VALLEY

Yawar Shafi, Srinagar: Kashmir Valley completes 40 days of shutdown with no public transport on roads while as business establishments remained off-track.

Authorities have deployed extra security measures in old part of Srinagar city as “Defensive Measure” to prevent protests after Friday congregational prayers. Region’s well-known clock tower situated in City Centre Lal Chowk witnesses minimal private vehicles plying over there while as Downtown has been sealed by security forces and Jamia Masjid, the Chief Mosque of the city has been lock-down. Sources added that no Friday prayers will be allowed there.
