MILITANT INVOLVED IN SOPORE FAMILY ATTACK, KILLED: DGP J&K

Yawar Shafi,Srinagar: Militant who was killed in a brief shootout in North Kashmir’s Sopore was involved in an attack in which four members of same family was wounded including 30 months old baby girl. This information was provided by Director general of Police J&K, Dilbagh Singh in a Presser in Srinagar today.

 

He said that the killed militant has been identified as Asif Maqbool Bhat resident of Athoora Payeen Kreeri of District Baramulla. As per top cop, the killed militant was affiliated with Lashkar e Taiba militant organization and was wanted by law for his complicity in crimes including attack on security establishments and civilian in the area.

 

Meanwhile during the course of firing two Jammu and Kashmir personnel were injured and have been shifted to hospital for treatment where there condition is said to be stable.  According to police records, Asif had history of militancy related crime records and was part of groups involved in planning and executing several attacks in the area of Sopore.
