Yawar Shafi, Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor of newly framed UT Jammu and Kashmir Giresh Chandra Murmu while condemning an attempt by vandals to set ablaze a Sufi Shrine in South Kashmir’s Tral directs Police brass to strengthen security of shrines across the Union Territory. A fire incident took place at Kounsarbal (Krusbal) Mohalla, Old Tral Township wherein miscreants set ablaze a shrine adjacent to a local mosque on the intervening night of November 25-26.

Condemning the “cowardly” act, the LG said that such acts are designed to arouse passion among the people and hurt their sentiments but they will not be tolerated, an official spokesperson said. He said that the perpetrators of the heinous act will not be spared and shall be brought to justice, he added. Police have launched a manhunt to nab the culprits, the spokesperson said.

ANM News have reliably learnt that Shah has pulled up the state unit for infighting and told the leaders in no uncertain terms that BJP will show the door to indiscipline party workers. Dilip Ghosh has also come under fire for losing Kharagpur. Independent reports from various agencies have indicated that criminal background of the candidate and political turncoat nature has proved to be his undoing.

GHOSH’S LOSS IS TMC’S GAIN

Staff Reporter, ANM News: Is this the beginning of the end for maverick BJP Bengal chief Dilip Ghosh ?  BJP sources indicated that the loss in Kharagpur is a personal loss of Ghosh as he was the sitting legislator. The state BJP President had personally selected the candidate, Premchand Jha, despite the fact that there were several criminal cases against him. Ghosh not only defended Jha, a turncoat from Janata Dal, but also ignored pleas and calls from party workers to nominate someone from the old timers. A local BJP leader raising a banner of revolt was thrown out of the party at Ghosh’s behest. The BJP president and party minder Kailash Vijayvargiya and other senior saffron party leaders literally camped in Kharagpur to ensure’s Jha’s victory. Despite BJP investing all their political power, TMC managed to wrest the seat by a handsome margin. The BJP loss has put a question mark on Dilip Ghosh’s leadership.

GOVERNOR PRAISES MODI GOVERNMENT FOR REMOVAL OF ARTICLE 370

STAFF REPORTER, ANM News:  Governor Jagdeep Dhankar lauded the Narendra Modi government for removing article 370 from the Indian constitution. The Constitution day programme at Raj Bhaban was laced with politics with Governor’s office forced to postpone the programme by 45 minutes after state government invited him to speak at the state Assembly “at the last minute.” Governor made no attempt to hide his ire, and opened his Raj Bhaban speech by apologising to the guests for the delay and blaming it on the state government. Governor Dhankar said that he failed to understand the reason behind Governor addressing the state Assembly on Constitution Day. Governor Dhankar went on to laud Jana Sangha founder Shyamaprasad Mookherjee among others for their efforts to remove article 370 from the Constitution. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has criticized the removal of article 370.
