WOMAN ARRESTED FOR HIDING MOTHER’S BODY 44 DAYS POST DEATH

ANM News Desk: An American woman has been arrested for hiding her dead mother’s body for 44 days in their Virginia home.

55-year-old Jo-Whitney Outland had been charged with concealing the body of her mother, Rosemary, in her home following her death on December 29th.

The body had been hidden under 54 blankets, while 66 air fresheners were used to disguise the smell as Ms Outland slept beside it.

ANM News Desk: In the wake of terrorist threats being faced by India and the government vowing to give a befitting reply to the terror attack in Pulwama alongwith efforts to isolate Pakistan, an all party meeting has been convened in the capital today. The meeting is being held by Home Minister Rajnath Singh where he’ll brief the leaders of various parties about the Pulwama terror attack and the emerging security situation in the militant hit Kashmir Valley.

The meeting is being held to brief political parties about the steps government would take so that the nation speaks in one voice on the issue.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi expressed full support stating that his party will stand firm with the security forces and the government. Other parties have also assured full support.

SINGLE WAY TRAFFIC ON JAMMU SRINAGAR NATIONAL HIGHWAY ON TRACK

Yawar Shafi, Srinagar: One-way traffic was allowed on the Jammu-Srinagar highway on Saturday and only stranded vehicles are moving from Jammu to Srinagar, a traffic official said.

Around 7,000 vehicles stranded in the Kashmir Valley would only be allowed to move towards the Jammu region after the highway was completely decongested, the official added, hoping the process might get smoother by later in the day.

The strategic 300-km long national highway that links the landlocked valley to other regions was restored on Friday afternoon for traffic.

PULWAMA DEADLY ATTACK AFTERMATH: HOME MINISTER ADDRESSED PRESSER IN SRINAGAR

Yawar Shafi, Srinagar: While addressing a Media conference in Srinagar, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that he has asked the officers to review the security provided to people taking money from Pakistan and its intelligence agency ISI.
“There are some elements who are hand in glove with militant organisations, and ISI across the border. They are involved in conspiracies too. They are toying with the future of the people, especially the youth, of J&K.” Singh said in a Presser
“There are some elements here who take money from Pakistan and ISI. I have told the officers that the security provided to such people should be reviewed,” he added.
Singh said this while addressing a press conference after laying floral wreaths on the mortal remains of the slain CRPF personnel at Humhama in Budgam district.
49 CRPF personnel were killed after a Jaish-e-Muhammad militant rammed his explosives-laden car into a force convoy on the Srinagar-Jammu highway in Lethpora area of Pulwama.

PULWAMA ATTACK: HM AT VALLEY TO REVIEW GROUND SITUATION

Yawar Shafi, Srinagar: Home Minister in Central government Rajnath Singh arrived in Srinagar to pay tributes to the CRPF troopers killed in Thursday’s attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district and to discuss the security situation.

Rajnath Singh taken part in the wreath laying ceremony on the bodies of the troopers at the Humhama Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Budgam district.

He will review the overall security in the state in the aftermath of the suicide attack — the worst strike in Jammu and Kashmir since militancy erupted in 1989.
